He'll have a hard time being educated till he can at least attempt to say "Schluter Kerdi", instead of "or whatever they're calling it".

Got to go, my driveway's crumbling. Been exposed to weather for 40 yrs. now. You know how that concrete gets when it's exposed to water.

Yeah, since he's such a "traditional" kinda guy, I'm sure he mud sets all his floors & walls and wet-sets his tile. "None of that ceement board and new-fangeled thinset stuff for me!"

yeah, the full 12 years he's been doing tile he's "old school"....

he should be reading up on new technology and using it to his advantage rather then making stupid videos.

I tried to talk some sense to the guy, but he is one of those hard headed types. I was going to invite him over here, but I'm not in the mood to deal with a troll. Besides, I'm not even sure he would come.

So he sent me a private e-mail telling me he has been setting tile since I was 14 and since I was so much younger than him I have no right to comment about standards, products, and procedures, and I am obviously ignorant to my trade...lol

I got similar email responses from the guy. He is convinced in his own mind that Schluster products encapsulate moisture, not allowing the tile to breathe.

Whatever.......

Well, by his "logic" that thinset over a Kerdi slope will hold enough moisture that it will deteriorate, (kinda thought water runs downhill?) I wonder why he can't seem to wrap his mind around all that water that penetrates through a traditional mud slope.....after all, a mud bed certainly doesn't have the same density and strength as cured thinset.

Oh, wait, wait....I'm sorry. Didn't mean to bring logic into this discussion.

Well, our friend Bob has deleted all comments, and disabled any further criticism. What do you think, should we invite him over here?
