Jack, Jack, what we're shootin' for here is photographic art, not pictures of art supplies stuffed up your nose. Get it right, man.

JD, tell the story. Doesn't look like a fun one.

I'm going to be laughing about the crayon picture for a LONG TIME Jack! Yep, gotta watch that monkey see monkey do thing with the kids though. But heck looks like your having a FINE time. Question is... did they come out as easy as they went in? That's one smooth-as-a-baby's-bleep floor too!

JD, I think it's a wonderful portrayal of a tile layer. The dust gives it movement too. Is that you? What's with the rubber duckie though?

Don't know nuttin bout bass fishing though.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I'm certainly no Ansel Adams though. His work is brilliant. And yes, like most photographers they spend a lot of time in the dark room. I got an eye for something anyway... art or not!

I wanna see more photos; I think it's neat to see what other people's perspective is.

Here's one for ya...

... crayons

Shutterbug-- If you don't mind, I'd like to steal that one from ya. There's another forum I go into called Gardenweb, where this site is very highly regarded, as is John and his book, and with your permission, I'd like to post this over there.

JB - Jack's picture is art - just ask his kids

My picture is not art. That is my beloved stepson with the grinder. There was nothing wrong with the steps. We just made him take them out and grind everything down because he killed the duck. Our clients were not very happy about losing AFLAC Jr. so we told them we'd make him pay. It was an accident. We took him to a duck doctor but he turned out to be a quack.

I dunno, JD. I can find art in it. It just needs a little help in the digi-darkroom to be more pleasing to they eye

Hmm, looks like the oil painting effect

Actually I was thinking of a whole different perspective mostly since you've seen that photo over and over you need a new view. Like this... (hope you don't mind). The border draws you away from the outer distractions into the main subject. The main subject is not really so much your son as much as it what he's doing. I removed the shadow from the flower pot too and added a little light to direct your eye to his hands. Also cropped it so that the area I'm drawing attention to is on the "tic-tac-toe" grid.

I'm not a pro. Those are simple things I learned about in a book that helps the overall look of the picture.

Maybe you like, maybe you don't. Art is undefined.

Looks good. The b&w puts a new perspective on it. You can really see the guilt come through even with the dust mask.

He looks like someone who just killed a duck.
