That yellow flower looks similiar to the tiger lillies I have around here. Is it a lilly variety? I like yellow flowers Shoot Jack, I'm not sure what I'm looking for in the big Epi plant picher. Are the buds the little reddish colored things that are growing near the end of the leaf? Like the one I see on the second leaf from the top on the left side?

Your new 5 megepixel is on the way? Ahh, can't wait to see what kind of shot you come up with for your prized Epi...

Will the plant survive indoors in a cold climate?

They(epi's) like to be root bound with indirect sunlight so im sure indoors
would be fine. The photos i posted are from the the 5 mp but im still learning
how to get nice shots. My wife says the yellow flower is some kinda of lilly.
I tossed the tag and forget what it is lol The buds are the little red things
coming off the leaves here and there. Ive counted 16 in all but you probably
cant see them all.

Oh oops, sorry didn't know that was the 5 banger camera. For the close up shots you might try setting your dial or button or menu (what ever you have) to the flower picture; almost every digi camera has a flower on it That might help, but it also might slow the shutter speed and cause blur. YOu'll figger it out.

Shoot. 16 buds. I remember how big the flowers are so you better weight that plant down so it doesn't fall off the sill when the blooms burst out!

Ahh thanx for the tip marni i can use all i can get does shutter speed
effect the photo? and of course being a man i never botherd reading the "entire"
booklet for my camera(just where to put the batteries) do newer digital cameras
have shutterspeed control? my camera is the newest sony cybershot 5.1.
been really happy with it so far, looking forward to buying a wide angle lense
and one of them super zoomer lenses.

Marni or anyone else familiar with digital cameras,
Does anyone know of a camera that either has a wide angle lens built into it or one that can be attached? I went to the local Worst-Buy and seems that the only chance of getting wide angle abilities is to buy a mongo-expensive camera.

kurt my sony cybershot 5.1 mp was only 300 bucks and it accepts attachable
lenses. i dont have any links sorry but you can prolly look it up or check it
out at your local comp store.

Musta missed this post before. I dont really know that much about diffrentr cameras, but like Jack said, theres ones out there that wont cost you a months salry to buy. As thr digi market grows so do your choices -like everything else that becomes popular.

Heres a wide angle article that lists some mfgrs offeriung wide angle that I found through google. I'll have to look at those cameras in that link I just refered to allso to learn a bit about built in wide angle features. ZR==Remenber to keep in mind when looking at a camera that the add on lenses will require you ti purchase both a converter ring as well as the lens itself. Im sure that the two together will run you at at least $125 and probably more. Sometimes you can purchase the camera with additional optional packages that will include some or all of zoom, wide-angle, the converter ring, lens hood... ti name a few off the top of my head.

I have a wide-angle lens from a seriously old digital camera. It was so old, you actually stuck a floppy disk in there! I'm not kidding. And the resolution was so "craptacular" (stole that one from Shaughnn )that a floppy could hold about 50 pictures. I gave the camera away, but kept the lens. I'm gonna go check out that camera Jack has and see what else is available.

OMG, a FLOPPY?!? Well, I guess technology had to start somewhere. I remember booting computers using a 5 1/4 floppy and there was no such thing as a hard drive!

I bet that old camera was a Sony. Reason I think I know is that I've still got mine. Resolution is 640 which isn't bad unless you want to print something larger than a postage stamp. I loved that camera. Still do. When it was new it cost over a thousand dollars, and that was a real thousand dollars back then.

The floppies were really handy though. Pop 'em in the computer and you had your pics. You could just leave them stored on the floppy.

That would be a Sony Mavica camera I believe. Great camera at the time. resolution was about 1/2 Megapixel or so. Perfect size for posting online!

YEP! It was a sony. You're right, anything bigger than a postage stamp and she started getting fuzzy. I love hearing the floppy spinning around for a few seconds after you shoot a picture while it is being transeferred to the disk. Now that I think of it, I remember seeing this camera at Office Depot less than a year ago. It was still $299, if you can believe that.

The cool thing is that screw-on wide angle lens fits my camcorder. Makes it much easier to record job details. Don't use the camcorder much anymore. But when you have a big remodel and a ton of details, you can narrate and shoot pictures simultaniously. Handy later on when putting a bid together.

Mavica is correct, but Sony still uses that brand.

Many of the pictures on my real web site were shot with that camera. Some of them you can tell it.
