How do I get plumbers finger print stains off shower walls?

Tried marble cleaner, but it didn't work.

I would let the CSI team come in first to lift the print, he may be wanted by the TBI and his fingerprint should be entered into CODIS just in case.

2nd, call the plumber in question and ask him to remove it, I mean he put there

3rd get some Aqua Mix Renue and rub that into it and buff off the print if number 1 and 2 didn't work

Actually DNA goes into CODIS, fingerprints go into AFIS.

Alcohol (not the drinking kind) or acetone (NOT the wife's nail polish remover - it is too weak) should work. Maybe try the acetone first. It is a great degreaser.

Acetone should work and is pretty inexpensive. If it looks like you're dealing with grease that's penetrated, you may want to try taping a poultice up there. Aqua Mix makes one at around the $5 point. It pulls up grease and oil pretty well.

Scott thanks for the fix, I get those two mixed up. Hey the plumber might have left some DNA there too, though I hope not.

While I dunno if I'd want the plumber directly removing the stain unless they are familiar with cleaning marble and understand how easy it is to damage, but I surely would want them to pay for cleaning up after their mess.

Hi John-

If the fingerprints are simply just the oil from his/her skin then something like Miracle Sealants Counter Kleen or Residue Remover should take them off rather quickly.

If perhaps the plumber had plumber's putty or something along those lines on his fingers and that has left a stain in the stone then you would need a poultice to most likely draw that out of the stone.

The key is to know what it might have been that he had on his fingers to create that stain. If that is the case, I suggest going to miraclesealants.com and referring to our "stain removal guide" for suggestions on how to remove that stain.
