Celebrating 2 months today. Started vaping 4/30/09 and completely analog free since 5/18/09. These things can be a life saver for some of us.

Congrats Eric. My mom passed away last August from cancer. She smoked
for 50 years. Cancer runs in my family, so I promised myself I would quit as
soon as I felt I was over mourning. Well, its been about a year now and I've
been thinking about it alot lately. I may try your method. Thanks for keeping
us posted, and stick with it you can do it.

Jack, I highly recommend it. Over 10 weeks for me now. If it at least helps you cut down on your smoking it's a victory. The vast majority, but not all of us who try them are able to completely quit analogs. Most of the rest are down to just a couple cigs a day.

Celebrating 3 months today of being tobacco free. I've cut back some as well on the PV usage, but it's still doing the job for me.

Past 4 months on the PVs instead of tobacco yesterday. What a difference it's made for me.

I keep hoping someone is helped by this. Sunday was my 5 month mark. The e-cigs aka PVs are still working for me.

Eric - I can tell you it has helped me indirectly. I have been quit for almost 12 yrs now & don't miss it one bit. My better half though struggles to this day with it and becomes quite defensive whenever I try to talk about her quitting - imagine that? After you started this thread - I peaked her interest and read her your updates - she isn't near as defensive about them as she is for other tidbits regarding quitting. Finally she bought one last week - I can't say exactly how much she has used it as I am trying not to pry - it just seems to make things worse. But I can tell you that your thread was the beginning of her conscience decision to CONSIDER another alternative. She also has had a co-worker - a smoker of 40yrs - who bought an e-cig and has had great results for a couple weeks now.

So - thank you for shedding a light where I couldn't!

I will try to find out some details & post them - send a search party if I haven't reported back in a couple days!

Eric that is fantastic news. I have a dear friend who struggles with this every day. Seh and her husband are doing the patch thing now. Like John, I don't bug/nag, it just makes things worse. (As someone who struggles with weight problems I know this first hand.) I've sent her the link to this thread. We talked about these things a few weeks ago.

Stay strong Eric. You are doing a fantastic job.

To all you hesitant naggers, I say, "Nag away!" The only thing worse is the stone wall, built in bitter silence.
