Q2 above is resolved. My solution is to use the small wooden paint stir sticks from Lowes. They are 1/8" thick... I'll just cut them up.

Regarding the SS Schulter trim. Someone suggested I put down the marble threshold first on top of the curb and run the Schluter to sit on top of threshold... and then the wall tiles would be on top of it too.

Unfortunately, I have not ordered the marble threshold... so I am going to press on and just not do the last edge column of tiles (on both walls); and do those last columns after I get the threshold put down... then I can do the Schluter at same time.

Rotate pics upright. :)

Well, it's been awhile... the shower project trudges forward slowly. At least the master floor is finished.

The first marble threshold I ordered arrived broken... (good thing I insisted on unboxing it at their store); so they had to order me another one. Given it's delicate nature I had them cut the 6"x36'" threshold to the length I needed (34-13/16").

I tiled the second level of tile over two weeks ago... and last night I was up past midnight installing the bottom chair rail and the shower niche (had to watch youtube videos to get the proper install order on the niche pieces).

Below are some screenshots.

@mullet, thanks (two of the pics are rotated-- maybe Admin can fix them). Yeah, I wanted a little fancier
pattern-- so I chose a basketweave pattern. The marble insets are Light Emperador polished marble (cut down from 12x12 tiles). The larger 12x24 tiles are Porcelain tiles I found at a store called "Southeast Salvage" (for 79 cents /sqft).

The same 12x24 tiles are going on the shower walls (length-wise) ...but I 'm doing a straight-stack pattern.

I also found some similar looking basketweave mosaic sheets (honed marble) with Light Emperador dots... which you see in the niche... and will also go on the shower floor and a chair-rail framed section around the shower hardware.
