Floor prep Dust Deputy Vacuum Combo

Just bought a "Dust Deputy", and a 14 gallon Dewalt online. I didn't like the size and shape of the Dewalt, so I sent it back. It was awkward to fit it with the DD

What is a good compatible vacuum cleaner. Need it portable. I don't see how the short 3 foot hose that comes with the DD will work with any configuration, or am I just not creative or smart enough to figure it out??

Some people build a cart to put them both on. I was lazy and bought one at Home Depot and it happened to fit the vac and DD pretty well; see pic.

The stuff that gets past the DD seems to be the very small, so a HEPA is not a bad idea.

Maybe I'm over thinking this, but the Rigid vacs have a twist on locking hose, how did you connect the dust deputy to the vacuum, what connectors were used?

I have a Bosch VAC140A 14-Gallon Dust Extractor with Auto Filter Clean. The auto clean was annoying when first got it but like with any thing you get use to it and it is a handy feature. I added a hose and a wireless remote control so I leave it outside of the room I am working if space is tight

I second and third Andy's advice to build or buy yourself a cart so that you can easily drag the pair around.

I don't know if my Ridgid vac is older or what, but the DD came with a couple elbows and one just gets pushed into the vac's intake on mine.

I do also have a HEPA filter in the vac to catch anything that gets missed.

It really came into play when I forgot to watch the DD bucket level, it got filled, then everything went to the bag. Lesson learned: watch the bucket's level!
