removing gloss tile sealer
I just finished converting standup shower to a walk-in shower and made the mistake of using this Tile Lab Gloss Sealer over the walls and floor. The wall tiles are high gloss porcelain with a marble look. I noticed after the second coat that it looked terrible. You could see sealer and it was ruining the nice high gloss walls (yeah, I know I was probably stupid for doing it in the first place). So I looked on this site and read the recommendations. I tried pretty much all of them and none worked very well. What I tried and it worked pretty well was Purple Power, undiluted, and scrubbed with one of those real firm plastic sponges you use on your car grill to get bugs off. Then when I went back to wash off a section, I noticed there were streaks of wax that I missed. I then used a razor blade and found that it was the best way to get the stuff off. So from then on, I basically just wet the surface and used the razor blade to take the stuff off (saved some elbow grease), then went back and washed everything off. So basically a whole day of hard work put in to recover from my mistake. Just glad it was resolved.
