curbless shower

I have done several curbed showers, doing one now.
What I have never done is a curbless shower. I hope to have time in late April to do my own bathroom and am wanting to do a curbless shower.
I always use a preslope bed in my showers and then the pan liner followed by second mud bed.
BUT; in a curbless shower do you put the liner directly on the subfloor and only use one mud bed?

Sloped mud bed with the surface applied liner atop bonded to the wall waterproofing inside the shower and the floor membrane outside the shower.
