Tile over control/saw joints
I think I have gone into a time warp guys. Correct me if I am wrong.
At one point in my career there were a few products that would allow us to tile over control/ saw cut joints and relocate to the next grout joint over. I cannot see where any of these products exist.
We used to call it "joint relocation" short of calling out what material I used lets just way it was a peel and stick type.
I know about one product that is referred as an "uncoupling membrane and will allow us to tile over control joints. But have more folks got in this type of product? what am I missing?
I also understand about following the TCNA guidelines about placing movement joint but I am referring to tiling over control joints and relocating the soft joint 1 tile over and sometimes that ugly sawtooth on a 45.
Before the gurus come out with the teeth, I am not talking about perimeter, expansion, change of plane or cold joints or the joints that must be honored or EJ171 joint placement requirements.
I am talking about joint relocation of a saw cut joint to the next tile joint over to make the tile installation more aesthetically pleasing.
Please lead me in the proper direction
