Hydroban Pan to Wall Transition

Hello,

I'm a homeowner with construction experience but never any tiling. So, I of course decided I should remodel my bathroom with a full tile shower. I've been creeping around on this forum (its fantastic), and following The Floor Elf's guide (which seems legitimate) to a liquid topical shower waterproofing using Hydroban. I've Durocked the walls, built a brick curb, installed a Laticrete flange drain, and just packed my pan so am basically ready to apply Hydroban (after 72 hrs).

My question is, after reading a few Hydroban horrors, would it hurt to thin set and fiberglass tape the pan-to-wall transition before applying Hydroban?

I know Hydroban says it doesn't require fabric for under 1/8th in gap. However the floor to wall transition seems like the most likely spot for a failure and I figure I might as well make it bombproof.

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't consider not using mesh tape and thinset at plane changes. Depending on size and configuration, I might also use reinforcing fabric with Hydroban.
