Noble Deck

Have a 2nd floor wood frame deck installed approx 2012. Used Noble Deck membrane, Laticrete 4XLT, PermaColor and Latisil on 24" sq porcelain tiles. The thin set is disintegrating and effervescence is coming thru tiles. Anyone familiar with this issue? Thanks for the input!

Welcome back, Tremain.

What helps a lot on these posts, particularly when discussing outdoor installations, is to have a geographic location on your profile. That way everyone can have a general idea of the climate we're dealing with.

Also, if you can tell us if this deck is covered, and over a living space, that might be helpful.

Are you able to view a cross-section of the installation, and that's how you know the mortar is disintegrating, or are some tiles loose or cracked?

The top ten reasons to procrastinate:

Welcome back, Tremain.

It will help a great deal if you'll add a geographic location to your User Profile.

Can you describe the construction of this deck for us?

To what substrate was the NobleDeck bonded?

I kinda doubt that, but perhaps you're suggesting efflorescence? Photos could be helpful here.

Howdy, Tremain!

What they asked. And can you tell us how the NobleDeck was flashed to the siding? And tell us if the tiles were spot bonded?

Tonto Goldstein... but my friends call me Bubba

Help an awesome summer camp!
