Patti,
I've never seen the instructions you listed out in the Wedi technical handbook. What document were your screenshots from? The latest version, Jan. 2021 can be found on the Wedi website. The Wedi building panel requirements state it is ok to use 1/2" building panels over 16" o.c. framed walls, 1" building panels must be used over 19" o.c. framed walls. Page 59 in the latest technical handbook shows these requirements. I've attached a pic of it.

Wedi

Thanks, Phil.

I just noticed that the docs say Wedi UK. I will download a new copy.

We have one stud 17" o.c. where the shower plumbing goes, but we added a horizontal brace halfway up. All other studs are 16" o.c., at least on that wall. In the rest of the house, studs are all different widths. I guess they didn't use a tape measure and just eyeballed where they thought studs should go.

I plan on putting the Wedi and tile up to where the drywall begins. A glass panel will be on top of the pony wall. The shower head wall will have the Wedi go all the way to the corner. Wall is 39" wide and the tub is 32" wide. Wedi down the sides to the floor where the tub apron is.
