Valve placement

Generally speaking does you shower head and temperature control valve typically get centered on the wall. Current setup is a 48" wide X 52 deep.

Center would be at the 26" mark, however rough in was done at apprx 31". The curb would also shrink this off center placement by another 3" on the floor. I will have two pressure control valves, temp control valve, spray bar and then shower head.

You can see the OC mark on the top sill plate

Matt,

We consider what it will look like from outside the shower as well as inside the shower when the tile is on the walls. This means the valve may not be centered between the rear wall and the shower glass.

The plumber may have also be restricted by where the wall studs are located. There are times we re-locate wall studs to accommodate the plumbing needs.

Then do what Mrs Matt wants.

That vertical stud is in the way. So that's how we ended up here. The placement to be 5" off center on the side the curb really feels like it will shrink that space. It's possible to be centered for a price by the plumber. His argument is the Shepard hook that holds the sprayer will make the offset lets noticeable.

Torn on having it moved or not. The Mrs. Wants it moved

Matt,

Think you answered your own question.

The plumber could have used street elbows to make the tighter turn and eliminate some of the horizontal tubin.

Have the plumber return. Refrain from dopeslapping him too hard.
