I have a pls 2, i wish I had a pls 180 but i bought mine for 80 bucks on craigslists years ago so i cannot complain. I bad thing about the pls 2 is when you need a plumb line 8 ft and you cannot pull the laser far enough, the further the laser is from the wall the further the plumb line shoots up the wall.

After Gueuze's post I am now curious about the Leica. The local supplier we were using for the PLS dropped them and added the Leica. When I went in to buy a PLS, the Leica display just looked "toyish", so I resorted to Amazon. I'd love to hear a personal review if anyone has one. The PLS seem to be extremely well made, I wonder how well the Leicas take a beating.

The 6" of height adjustability on the Stabilia is a pretty cool feature IMO. Price is pretty darn good too!

I'd vote for the Leica. It reminds me of those pods from War Of The Worlds. And as G man said, they invented this stuff. Must use alien technology.

I don't know what kind of break we could get on three of them, but I might be convinced to pick one up as well.

What kind of pricing would that be? I "need" a new laser, the one you're clearing out looks good to me.

Actually, I don't care what it looks like, just so it's accurate, doesn't break and is easy to use. So the Leica is a possible. But I heard that Leica licenses its name to divisions that have consumer type products - to be made by other companies. Unlike the old days when Leica meant Leica. Did some looking but can't see where its made and by whom, if not Leica.
Features that are important to me: (in order)
Accuracy - Like the 1/8" in 30 ft. And a thin, sharp line
Durability - need it to last at least 3 yrs or more of nearly everyday use
Price $100-$225
Usability - The wider the degrees the better, but it doesn't take much more effort to turn it for a wider sweep of the room. Would like vertical, horizontal, and both as options - when you want a horizontal but don't want to be blinded with the vertical every time you reach for a wedge. At least has the tripod screw hole at the bottom so I can put it on my pole and magnet laser holder. But better yet would love an adjustable laser holder that has micro adjustment. Probably that's just an accessory. Smaller rather than larger
Don't need: outdoor capability, distance over 30', rotating, adjustable laser (should work outta the box), points, plumb dots,
I'm liking the accuracy of the Leica but not the look. The reputation and following of the PLS. Not many seem to mention the Dewalt and I could gamble on another Bosch again . . . well maybe no. I think I'll try something new.
If a number of us find something we'd all get, maybe we could get a quantity discount? Hmmmmm

Im not much for brand loyalty, but i do have a few dewalt tools ive purchased over the last couple years. Pretty impressed with them. I have the crosshair laser i posted a pic of, and a rotating self leveling laser and receiver that I use for placing concrete slabs. Both work well.
If I found a better deal I would switch brands no problem. Just commenting that I have had no problems with the dewalt, if that helps anyone.

I bought my (at the time Robotoolz) Porter Cable laser model rt-7690-2
October 2005. Its still working flawlessly. I paid a lot more than the $319 listed on ebay.
For the money the other guys are talking about, I'd buy this one without a doubt. Plus the remote is kick a** and so is the case.

Yeah that HVL 100 does look good. I'll put that on my list right after getting my wife a Bentley and me getting my McLaren F1.
