Spots / haze on linen look porcelain tile

Our contractor just finished tiling our floor and it's got a dirty look/ haze when viewed in natural light at an angle (see picture). The tiles are porcelain linen-look tiles, which have striations, and they are a rather matte finish so I don't know if that's why this happened.

We tried cleaning with a non-stick pan scrubber and household cleaner, but it helps only marginally.

What can we use? We have 264 square feet of this!

The grouting was done two days ago.

Thanks,
Mary

Hi Mary and welcome.

Why not invite your installer back to clean the floor?

After reading up on this forum and others, I had to try vinegar. I mopped the floor with 40% vinegar in water, followed by two fresh water rinses, a good drying with towels, and all is well now--the tile is perfectly clean. Whew!

Glad it worked out, Mary. Vinegar usually will clean light grout haze on porcelain.
