Grout slake time

Just noticed that the bag direction on Mapei’s Ultracolor Plus FA has changed since last time I used it.
2017 directions had “ Allow the grout to sit (“slake”) in the container for about 2 to 3 minutes. Remix for about 30 seconds without adding more liquid or powder”. 2019 bag directions eliminated this step.
Has the formulation changed, or have they just discovered that it doesn’t make a difference?
I still plan to give it the 2 minutes sit, mix, and move fast.

Its been a bit confusing to us too Jeff, but we always read and follow the directions as they commonly change for most of the products we use.

Seems like we should invite our MAPEI rep for this one, so I have, Jeff.

The original directions was an oversight. I believe a copy and paste mistake in the directions. We do not need to slake our rapid setting grout; Ultracolor Plus FA.

I do know others that still slake some, nothing wrong with that as long as you have enough working time.

And I though it was to increasing production by eliminating smoke breaks which are less popular these days.
