greenboard outside of shower?

hi
a question about the outside of my shower - is it necessary to install hardibacker outside my shower - beyond the curb area? I have a vertical post which will support the door on one side and a kneewall glass insert "window" on the other, which I intend to tile as well (outside the shower). I was thinking of using greenboard (outside). Is this ok?

thanks - I really appreciate this board and the experts who take the time to help us amatuers out!

Craig --

If you're outside the wet area of the shower you don't need CBU. But regular drywall will be fine there and it's stronger than greenboard.
