Help, What kind of thinset for granite tile?

Hey Guys,
Can someone tell me what kind of thinset to use for laying granite tile as a counter top? It will be backed by 3/4 plywood and 1/4 hardibacker.
Also, what kind of thinset do I use to lay a 6" ceramic tile backsplash directly to sheetrock?
Thanks for the advice you guys are great,
TideFan

Hi Tide fan, welcome. I like using a medium bed thinset for stone, it allows you to butter up if you need to without the stone sinking from it's own weight. Customs makes Marble and granite thinset that I use alot.

On the splash, you have several options here. You can use the same Marble and granite thinset or go to a little cheaper modified thinset like Versabond. Mastic can also be used.

Here's the Marble & Granite that Davy mentioned. It should be readily available at Home Depot.
