They're predicting that by the time the cold front arrives in Houston it will have gained a few degrees. It will knock us down into the low seventies during the day. Still short sleave weather.

Hey Todd, how's the weather up North?

They are saying 5 inches of snow in Northern MN tonight!

Too bad we couldn't send some of this out to CA.

Ended up with about 4 inches of the heavy wet stuff.flurries off and on today.it'll probobly melt this week and make everything nice and muddy.
On the brite side i bought a crank up/down ice fishing trailer from a buddy of mine last night.Home made heavy duty,6x12 with 2 bunks and a kitchen area.12v dc lighting.( i have to supply my own heater which will run me a couple hundred for a new 20,000 btu ventless thermostically controlled lp wall hanger.
Price...................650.00
this weekend i 'm going to mount the antenna and 5" B&W 12v tv in it for game time and my 3 burner cooktop.
Wanna come up and carpet it for me Scott??We can go out and shoot a few birds afterwards

What? You want carpet instead of tile?

Sweet deal you got there!! I'm jealous!

Planning on going up to the Lake of the Woods in early Dec.
Hopefully there will be enough ice this year.

So what color carpet do you want?

Gee, Todd.... that sounds like a lot of fun.

I mean it gets pretty darned cold down here around Grand Isle, too, but I don't think I've ever had to worry about freezing to death if I lost propane. On the other hand, you don't have the hurricanes to worry over.

you actually drive these things on the ice? How thick does the ice get on a lake up there? Are the fish not too damned cold to want to eat? You have to change tackle for the winter expeditions?

I don't mean to sound completely impudent as goes getting by in cold climates. I've had several memorable occasions where I gained intimate knowlege of the effects of freezing wind on the human body... let's see

... there was that time I had a layover in Chicago when the plane's heater wasn't working right. Damned near had to get my carry on and get out a sweater.

Then once in Denver, darned near peed my pants because the toilet in the men's room at the diner was too cold to sit on and had to wait 'til I got back to my hotel......

and of course I always go ballistic when JJ leaves the freezer door open when getting ice for our martini's.

Well Scott,if you can get something betwen free and close to free i wont be too choosy about color
Siding is going to be a silver grey.
Sonnie, yes we change gear a little. We go to shorty rods with jigs for most of the fishing. The ce on our lakes can get as much as 42" thick.Average is probobly closer to 30" at the thickest. You can drive an ATV or snowmobile on 6" a small truck on 10" a full size 4x4 on 12" and a Semi truck loaded with logs on 24"
Ive got a power auger for drilling 8" holes through the ice,A 4x6 portable house made of ABS Plastic sled with a tent attached to it
Another portable suitcase type house thats 7x8.These are for when the ice is too thin yet for the truck to drive on.Ive got a portable heater for these that runs on coleman propane cylinders,it will also heat up a can of soup ,fry fish or perc coffee

Boy...not sure what the Pacific Northwest did to get mother nature so mad. Tonight we are expecting RECORD LOW TEMPS.

Looking for 25-27 degrees overnight. Winds have been crazy! My instructor had a 300 pound boat cover fly off his boat and tear down the road, crashing into a neighbors house three doors down and doing considerable damage.

My yard is strewn with branches from all the wind overnight andin the morning.

The temps have dropped dramatically in the past few days.

Now...John will relate to this. The SNOW PLOWS are getting ready for the cold snap. *giggle Being from the east coast where it actually SNOWS...that seems commical to me. Snow plows standing ready tonight because of COLD!?!??? Guess they will be putting down deicers.

Oh winter...wait a little longer!

When I was a kid in Seattle -- that would be back in the good old days -- we didn't have snow plows, and we used to have to walk . . . .
