We are currently getting some pretty heavy rainfall from the west. Our plan is to send it along east and maybe turn it into snow for you folks in the Carolinas, Virginia and D.C. area.

John, we'll take the rain and even some snow as long as it holds off until about 7:00 tonight. We are going to an oyster roast this afternoon and would appreciate it being dry. Last year it was cold and raining the whole time and we had to pick just the right place under canopies to stay dry. We'll go prepared this year just in case. It's a fund raiser with all the oysters and Brunswick stew you can eat and all the beer you can drink. They also have other foods available, but we LOVE steamed oysters.

Enough beer, and you won't care whether it rains, Clyde.

It was a perfect afternoon, mid-60's, overcast and just a light breeze. 50+ cases of fresh oysters and a crew who knew how to steam them to perfection. Brunswick stew and chicken gumbo for those so inclined, plenty of other food for those who didn't come to eat oysters and plenty of beer. I think Frances and I probably polished off a case of oysters between us. I only had two beers (too busy eating oysters) and Frances had one. She drove home.

They rain should start moving in fairly soon. I have plenty of firewood on the front porch and will probably start a fire before long. That is if I can move off the couch.

I'm hearing it might hit 84 here tomorrow. How many of you Yankees have a wide driveway that will handle a 40-foot fifth wheel travel trailer? I gotta head north.

Hi Guys

We've really had a mild winter this year in Chicagoland. We did finally get another hit of snow yesterday/this morning.

It was really coming down when I got home yesterday.

They weren't snow flakes, they were snow men falling from the sky (as seen on the sleeve of my jacket).

Last night was the beginning.

Early this morning, it was almost finished. Total accumulation almost reached 9".

The news was referring this as "heart attack snow", because of the warm temperatures, causing the extremely heavy wet snow. I saw four wheel drive plows clearing parking lots this morning spinning their tires trying to move the snow. I'm glad I had a 2 stage snow blower.

What a difference, John. We only got about an inch of heavy slosh in the northwest side of Chicago and you got a wow 9 inches.

BTW, John, that second to the last pic. looks almost like a painting. Very nice.

No snow here,

It got warm enough today to turn the A/C on. Mikey was too warm.

Hi Ceci

Thanks! We love it here.

Hi Mike

Everyday? C'mon, don't exaggerate. I see your weather radar on my phone everyday.

OOOPS! I forgot that's why you couldn't get a clear shot on our furry friends (all that heavy snow). I've got to dig up some photo's from the deer eating from our bird feeder.

We've had a decent amount of rain here lately. Aside from the snow storm that knocked out my power for a week, it's been a fairly mild winter. This is the Snoqualmie Valley yesterday:

Went from the seventies to the fifties overnight. Came from the north, of course. I keep tellin' y'all about those wicked Canadians sendin' all that cold down here. Nobody wants to believe me.

Just got 20" of snow from last night. Too bad we didn't get this a month ago! Still is awesome though.
