No hangover for me this morning,
It's still snowing, but not as bad as earlier this morning. We may have gotten as much as 24 inches of snow with drifts as high as 4 feet. My town has declared a state of emergency.
Got to clear a path for Mikey so he can take care of business.

I'll be thinking of you today, Dave, as I watch the Bears-Ravens game played in Baltimore.

Soooo.......

Both my black cats have been swearin' at me for two days "pffiitt @#" cause they wanna' go outside so.... I opens' the front door and they just stare at alla' snow. Brrrr!

Then they run through the house to the back door to see if things look better on that side but..... no..... same thing.

So they ran back to the front door where I finally pick em’ both up and chuck em' out inna' drift.... where they disappear.

Lickity split they tunnel their way back inna' house.... where they are now inna' basement rafters swearin' at me.

"Pffffiiitt $#"!

Precisely what I would have done.

I've posted the prognostications of the famous Indian Chief, DFBB Jones, over yonder inna Seattle area, but now I gotta find out the name of this fella in South Dakota what my friend sends me word of. He tells me as follows:

It's late fall and the Indians on a remote reservation in South Dakota asked their new chief if the coming winter was going to be cold or mild.

Since he was a chief in a modern society, he had never been taught the old secrets. When he looked at the sky, he couldn't tell what the winter was going to be like.

Nevertheless, to be on the safe side, he told his tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that the members of the village should collect firewood to be prepared..

But, being a practical leader, after several days, he got an idea. He went to the phone booth, called the National Weather Service and asked, 'Is the coming winter going to be cold?'

'It looks like this winter is going to be quite cold,' the meteorologist at the weather service responded.

So the chief went back to his people and told them to collect even more firewood in order to be prepared.

A week later, he called the National Weather Service again. 'Does it still look like it is going to be a very cold winter?'

'Yes,' the man at National Weather Service again replied, 'it's going to be a very cold winter.'

The chief again went back to his people and ordered them to collect every scrap of firewood they could find..

Two weeks later, the chief called the National Weather Service again. 'Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold?'

'Absolutely,' the man replied. 'It's looking more and more like it is going to be one of the coldest winters we've ever seen.'

'How can you be so sure?' the chief asked.

The weatherman replied, 'The Indians are collecting firewood like crazy.'

(Remember this whenever you get advice from a government worker.)

Must be them weather service peons didn't notice alla Yankee Indians gatherin' alla snow shovels, eh?

These intense low pressure systems move off the coast and develop wonderful swells with offshore winds from Maine to Barbados as they inundate the northeast with snow.

Here's lighthouse beach in Buxton, NC, today.

And boy did we ever need them.

It took 2 of us 8 hours to dig me out. My back still hurts.

Merry Christmas to all of you in snow country. Maybe Santa will bring you a snow blower.

Actually, Merry Christmas to everyone on here.

Just want y'all to know we share your misery. Cold front moved in last night, and the high today and tomorrow is projected to be only in the fifties. And in Houston we're supposed to get a frost tonight. Probably gonna hafta drag out my Yankee jacket. Doesn't get much worse than that.
