In the teens for the last week...lots of snow and ice. The public schools and the college closed for the last three days. Back at work today for a few hours...but still no students. Daytime temp today supposed to get to 30 or so...maybe 40 tomorow We"ll have our students back tomorrow probably.....if our maintenance folks can get the parking lots and sidewalks cleared............

Yeah, but you have to admit it's much quieter without the voices.

I've been sitting here bitching about the weather here and then I saw some news clips around the rest of the country. Maybe we're not so bad off.

Got up to 32 here the other day too. The only problem was is that's Celsius and there was a minus in front of the 32.

Karen, Think Lemon Pepper!!! Get the cheaper variety like spice classic or spice trend.it is far better than the spendy stuff.schillings variety stinks!!
Your fishing Bass if i remember correctly.
Soak fillets overnight in a bowl of salt water(this helps to draw out the blood and firm the fillet.)
Whip up a couple of eggs, crush some saltine crackers and some triscuits 2/3--1/3 mix. Cut fillets up into serving pieces or fish stick size.wash in egg mixture, roll in cracker mixture and fry quickly in hot olive oil.sprinkle with lemon pepper while cooking.

Try that one.Next week perhaps we'll try the Beer batter recipe

-35 F this AM............I wanna go to Cabo!!!

I bought Jim the Sportspal square stern 15'2" canoe.... 2 gunwale seats... plenty of room for the two of us, but I sometimes feel like we need walkie talkies to communicate, LOL! 15 feet is farther than I thought. We also bought the Yakima roof rack system for transporting the canoe on the top of the Voyager.... very quick loading and unloading. I also got him the Minn-Kota electric trolling motor... 32 lbs thrust, Optima deep cycle battery, Cannon downrigger, and a Smart Cast fish finder.
So far we've only taken it out on Diamond Valley Lake.... haven't made it to the west dam yet... 5 miles from the marina, but we've been catching a lot of trout around the marina and along the east dam. The Smart Cast doesn't work so well at DVL.... doesn't work past 100ft...
They say the bass prespawn starts toward the end of Feb... the bite should pick up then.
It's 40 degrees this morning, but I think it will reach the high 70's today and be SUNNY! Good day to go fishin'!.... to bad we have to work....
