Hi Shawn, I’m missing the issue with the GFCI. Orientation of the plug?

I'm not seeing that they are GFCI receptacles, PC. Also not seeing what difference that would make, though.
First I gotta guess that the photo is incorrectly oriented and the receptacles are actually vertically oriented. Would that be the case, Shawn?
If so, I would guess that the receptacles were originally correctly oriented with the grounding connector at the top, then the homeowner complained that her hair dryer plug had the wire pointing up when plugged in, so the electrician dutifully turned one of the receptacles over so it was oriented the way they all usta be installed and the plug would work more conveniently as designed.
But how that, correct or incorrect, would make that fit in a Worst Tile Job thread would still require another guess, non?

No it is not orientated correctly, in real-life it is a vertical 2 gang outlet about ten feet off( so no where near tile) the ground for a tv at a local burger place. I felt it was so absurd that I had to share it will all of you, your welcome

Not quite the worst
I’ve seen worse, but this ranks up there. Was visiting a friend in a new construction home. Said all the usual “how wonderful”, “it’s beautiful”, etc. Used the bathroom and had to take some pics.
I don’t think it was incompetence, so much as not giving a sh!t on all of the build. Outlets with gaps around the plate where the drywall was cut too wide, molding that went around corners and missed lining up with the next piece by an inch or more, areas where the painter missed the finish coat and all that was on the wall was the primer coat; stuff like that.
I get that in the hot market last year the goal was “get ‘em up fast and move onto the next”, but come on, have a tiny bit of pride in your work.
The other bathrooms’ tiling was just as bad.
Felt bad for him. First home. Kept my mouth shut.

Some "quality"work at the holiday Inn, in Denton Texas. There are more but you get the idea. There is also tile in the surround, is it waterproofed???

Yes it's in a wet area, but it's "grounded".

I wish I could think outside the box like that.
And when I say "outside the box", I mean the box that has the National Electrical Code book in it.
