Shower pan liner - CPE vs Redgard

I have laid the preslope deck mud and was looking to purchase the CPE membrane, however at both Lowes and Home Depot they recommended Redgard as a better alternative, this seems contrary to everything I have read on this site (Liberry etc).

What is your recommendation?

If it is CPE membrane can this be purchased locally or just on line (Chloraloy)?

Hi Neil, CPE is a better pan. It's thickness and lack of lack of missed pinholes is guaranteed. It's (very) long term durability has also been proven. The Redgard is slightly more brainless to install, but the CPE is actually faster.
I use the Redgard on a rare occasion only where a very funky shaped pan, or where a curved or "s" shaped curb will make it difficult to fold the liner.
You can get CPE at any local wholesaler who specializes in supplies for the tile installer or at most Dal Tile locations.
