I've been watching the Discovery box set prices on Ebay Laz, still trying to score one for a price of around $3-4 an album. Amazing how well the value holds. The Japanese prints easily sell for $400 for the 14 albums.
Usually the Japanese pressings of most Cd's are regarded as the highest quality one can get.

Watching this guy Larry Haun frame a house is mesmerizing. He’s exactly the kinna teacher you’d want: Not a lot of words needed to convey his techniques...but he’s quietly a speed demon.

He is enjoyable to watch, Goldstein. One of my framers years ago turned me on to larry's book, The Very Efficient Carpenter. Gotta say I learned a whole lot that I thought I already knew.
I found it so useful that I even bought another copy sometime after I burned my onboard library in The Great Hovel Far of 2009.
I wonder if he and Joe are ever gonna break down and buy'em some pneumatic nailers.

Sour Grapes?
I went through carpenter apprenticeship school way back in the day, and for a while I was a production house framer and, later, a custom home framer. There is a difference between the two. These guys are production framers, and they take the shortcuts that production framers take.
I have not read the book, but I understand from watching the videos that the book is meant to teach first-time homebuilders how to build there own home, which in my view, is a custom home. In my opinion, production shortcuts should not be used in a custom home.
1. Square cuts are not eye-balled; they are measured and marked with a small square.
2. Overcuts are not made; inside cuts are finished off with a hand saw. Over-cutting weakens the framing member.
3. I believe that floor "decking" should be screwed down and not nailed.
These are just a few of the complaints I have with the videos. Again, I have not read the book, and if I'm missing something I hope y'all will let me know.

Big fan of Simon & Garfunkle. "Kathy's Song" was epic. Here is a "cover" by Eva Casidy
