Hey guys;

Thanks again for your advice on approaching the round window in my shower.

I'd also mentioned our kitchen, which we'll be redoing next for obvious reasons. But a couple pictures are worth a thousand groans. So here you are. This also begs the question; what are some of the saddest DIY tile attempts you have had to replace?

Ugh... that's brutal. Though I have to say, some of the pictures posted that look almost as bad have been done by hack "pros" as well. There's a great thread in the Pro's Hangout with pics from all sorts of bad jobs, pro and DIY...

if you ever get a chance to watch Holmes on Homes. that is what he does. fix hack jobs. i am amazed at what i have seen on that show. some of these guys should be put in jail for fraud.

I live in Ague Dulce, which is in the Santa Clarita/Acton area, close to where the 5 and 14 freeways come together. Of course the beauty of this forum is that I can talk to good setters all over.

I especially love the two full tiles at the top of the window, then the row of "skinnies" from there down to the countertop. Not only is the craftsmanship in question, so is the planning/layout. But I guess that all falls under the heading of craftsmanship...if you're good, you're good at all of it.
