Nessie, thanks. That helps. I am dreading the day we have to put ours down. It's amazing how they become "family." I hear some folks saying "he's just a dog, you will get another and will forget the one you have!" I am truly horrified to hear this, but then I find out that they've never had a pet!!

I love dogs, but I am kind of more drawn to the little ones for some reason. I don't think it has to be a Pom, just a small breed...

Just remember Dan, the reason I dog has so many friends is because he wags his tail and not his tongue. Just keep it in check and you'll be fine. I hope T will be too. Thay truly ARE family.

Eli, might want to look into a mutt at the local shelter and let your older pooch help you pick it out. Might also be interested in Cavalier King Charles rescue.

I saw a bumper sticker the other day. It said something like this: "And when God created the dog, He sat down and smiled."

I love your dog Adriana. Those eyes just makes me melt.

Yes, we do want to get a rescue dog instead of buying from a breeder.

Seems like our old guy was having some winter blues. Took him to the vet and sure enough, everything came back fine. It's hard taking him for the long walks when there is snow/ice and bitterly cold some days, but we have been trying, and he's doing better. Plus he's on some vitamins they prescribed, and getting lots of attention.

Hey Dave - how are ya?

No - if'n I recall correctly, that was somewheres in the wastelands of west Texas, taken a little more than a year ago on our tremendous trek 'cross the US of A.

Apologies - the blog has not been updated since we got here, and there is MUCH to tell, but we have just been awesomely busy here in Canuck land.

Can honestly say this move has been the best thing we have done in a LOOOOONG time

and the dogs are loving it too

Update on Snowy

We had a bit of a scare early last week. Wiley emailed Snowy's family for an update and no answer. Waited a couple days and texted. No answer. We were so worried she had wandered off (as she liked to do) or something worse. We didn't follow up.

We got a missive explaining that Snowy's mom had been called out of town to tend to a family member in really poor health...not looking good.

She assured us that Snowy is well and that the family is so happy to have her..and loves her bunches.

If we could maybe offer some prayers to Snowy's Mom and her family during this time...would be a good thing.

Snowy's mom

Our three were trying to figure out what that white stuff was because they knew it wasn't cotton season.

I look at that and can't get the song "they were only playing leapfrog" out of my head
