Question Shower Niche

I have a wonderful steam shower with 2 niches. The niches are designed to shed water but unfortunately, they also shed shampoo bottles and just about anything else one might want to put in them. I was thinking that perhaps some kind of bar across the lower portion but I am somewhat hesitant to puncture the steam membrane. Does anybody know of a product that might help?
Thanks so much!

Don't puncture anything! Holes and water don't go together well. IT sounds as though the niches have too much angle on them. A little is necessary to allow water to run off so that it don't get nasty.

Have you thought about a stainless steel tension rod. You might be able to find it through a boating supply or outfitter. You might also consider some other alternative. Maybe something you could silicone in place that will keep the bottles but still allow water to run off. Maybe some kind of rust-proof perforated metal. (Just brainstorming here.)

Hi Linda, there are products available to treat floors to make them less slippery.
Try feeding google words like ceramic tile slip friction treatment.

Don't know if they work, or if it would work on a niche shelf but it might be worth looking in to. Could be that a sample size would be enough to treat the shelves.

Various epoxies could be used to add a bar of material across the opening. There are also rubber shelf liners uses in tool boxes that can be bought and cut to size with scissors. Use them for a while and then throw them out if they get icky.

Hi Linda,

They gave you way too much pitch for sure. I would look into the tension bar idea. Boating and RV supply places.

Thumbs up Thank You

Thank you all for your speedy replies! I found the website for No-Skid - a chemical treatment that is not too expensive - certainly worth a try. I'll let you all know how it goes.
Thanks again!
