contractor installed blue drywall in shower

Is blue board drywall (moisture resistant) acceptable as a substrate ? Stall floor will get deck mud with latticrete membrane and walls(blue board) will get hydroban applied with using a thickness gauge. Tile is honed limestone on a mesh sheet in a chevron design 1.3 sq. ft. per piece.

Apparently acceptable to your Contractor, Mark. Not likely acceptable to your local building code. Not acceptable to the waterproofing membrane manufacturer.

While drywall is an acceptable substrate for hydroban, there is an exception for wet areas where hydroban is to be installed only over ceement board.
