Flexcolor CQ advice

I'm using Flexcolor CQ with glazed ceramic wall tile. I'm finding it pretty difficult to get the product on the wall and work it into the joints without a majority falling on the floor. The work I completed yesterday looks great today and hardened up nicely but half of the bucket ended up on the floor. I'm using a molded rubber float (directions call for medium to hard rubber float). The grout just seems too loose (especially compared to previous DIY experience with traditional grouts). I've used CQ on floors with great results but wall is proving to be tricky. Any advice?

Dustin, if you'll type Flexcolor CQ into the Advanced Search feature and ask for Titles you'll find some threads of discussion on the product, including one very in depth thread in the Hangout. Should answer any question you might have about using that product.

This for your Kerdi Shower?

One thing I find very handy in a shower; tape a piece of plastic on the floor. The grout will barely dry and can be picked up and reused.

As far as getting it on, it's all in the way you work your float. Comes with time!

I did stir the contents but still very loose--again, the consistency was great for floors but a little bit more difficult on vertical applications. I'll definitely give the plastic a try and appreciate the tip. CX--I'll take a look at that thread in the hangout. I haven't ventured to that part of the site so that should definitely be new info for me. Thanks again for all of the help.

Also work in small areas maybe 2 feet by 2 feet at the most before starting the cleaning procedure
