One aspect of that is double bad. It's gonna rain on the Carolinas again.

We got a quick whip through of the remnants of Michael coming through last night. LOTS of rain, some pretty good wind, but fortunately no big damage. Looks like someone dumped 10,000 pounds of chopped salad on everything.
Today is a beautiful clear calm day. Great for picking up the tons (literally) of downed branches and other vegetative detritus. Could have been worse.

Mexico Beach is in horrific shape. It will take years to get it back, I hope they change the building codes.

We evacced from Carrabelle. Went from the frying pan into the fire so to speak. Rode out Michael in our RV in Bonifay just 40 miles north of landfall.

Hwy 98 in FL is washed through completely in many places. This is a main thoroughfare in the panhandle. If you didn't leave you can't get out now and if you did you can't go back. My home town (Albany, GA) is totally devastated. They haven't even recovered from the 2017 tornadoes. Agriculture losses are estimated to be nearing $2 billion dollars. It was prime picking season for cotton, peanuts, soybeans, and pecans. Thousands of 20-30 year old pecan trees are down so the effects will be felt more many years to come.
