I think that guy actually set his screed sticks with screws driven through the floor, which means they went through the liner as well.
Thank goodness he covered the holes with concrete.
Edit:. I went back to look at the comments and it turns out he just drove the screws into the sticks just enough to be able to remove them. They were never attached to anything.
That was almost impossible to see at the speed the video was going.
