Porn Trap
While researching a fitness issue, I clicked on one of the search results (with legit looking description/url) and fell into a porn site. And got trapped trying to get out. Finally did a Ctrl-Alt-Del that worked.
Should I be worried restarting the puter? Any tips on getting out if it happens again?
I knew trying to get into shape was dangerous.

Restarting shouldn't be a problem; you might want to clear the cookie and temporary files from your browser. I have firefox set to delete everything (cookies, temp files, browsing history) when I close it.
I still run WindBlows 2000. Ctrl-Alt-Del brings up the option to open Task Manager. I open that, then click on either firefox.exe or iexplore.exe, and then use the "end process" option.

Chris, the Task Manager got me out. And I do have Firefox setup to delete cookies/temp files. Hope that's enough.
Boy, that was a shocker when that page came up.

Marge,
It doesn't sound like you're using the NoScript add-on to FireFox.
NoScript prevents any site that you visit - even unintentionally - from running Java scripts. It's a bit of a pain at first because you have to grant permission to all the sites you normally visit, but it's a one-time deal.
I think NoScript is every bit as useful as anti-virus protection.

You have my sympathy! I was hosting a get together (family event) at my place once and my kids & other kids were all playing on the pc. I heard one of the women screech I went to see what was up and there's about 20 porn pages open to all these little kids! I shut it down via task manager, deleted cookies, etc. I don't know how they got there, but I felt like everyone was looking at me.

I use the free K9 Internet Filter on all my computers. It would have stopped the porn pages from loading in both situations mentioned.
It's another unbelievably functional tool for the price (free!). It has variable levels of protection from which to select, and I can override the protection for certain sites if necessary. For instance, it likes to block most of the photo storage sites that folks use here to display their work. I can except them at my will.

Be glad you didn't have to look at that awful Rick Astley video instead. That guy's hair is deeply offensive
