Shower tile wall question!

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum, and hoping to get an answer to a tile wall question as this is not my field.

a few years ago I had my shower completely re-built, small ceramic tiles were used for the walls. About a year later the shower pan had to be re-done due to leaking. The pan was re-placed cutting thru 1 row of tiles in circumference 1 row of tiles up from the floor. That seam or grout line that was cut in circumference is quite frequently cracking thru the grout. Is there anything you would recommend to fix this issue as it has been re-grouted several times and it just re-cracks. Should something other than grout be used?

Sorry for the long winded question, but this is not my field.
Thanks for any advice.

Jayven

Hi Jayven,

You should remove the grout from that joint and replace it with silicone caulking, which comes in several colors. You can find grout removal tools at big box stores.

Welcome, Jayven!

And if you have an oscillating tool, you can outfit it with a grout removal blade to make the job easier.
