I measured some of the 25psi foam I used and it seemed to be in the 1.5lb range.

Schluter says their foam is around 50psi, so my guess would be that the 3lb stuff may be similar.

Your could make a test by setting a large marble or cone on a schluter scrap weighed down by a weight - measure the dent, do the same on your new material for a simple comparison.

Some at home testing I have been doing over the last month.
I cut the bottom out of this solo cup and siliconed it to a piece of 1/4" thick 3lb expanded polystyrene. I filled the cup up with colored water and let it sit for over a month. No water appeared to come through.
What does this test prove I really don't know. I would not use the phone with out putting on a waterproof membrane when it came to shower walls benches or floors. I also have been putting a piece of foam that is connected to a piece of porcelain in and out of the freezer while soaking it also with water just to see if I get any kind of separation.

The S table I made for coverings out of foam.
It all started with the designers signature S on her card.
The I had the idea to create a table base out of that shape.

Next I welded some aluminum sheet onto the thin edges.
And put a coat of Styrospray 1000 where the foam was thin.

Rod the finished pictures of that were amazing! Your creativity with foam has got me using more of it lately. Always coated with Hydroban of course.
