I wish I could get my hands on the one I ordered. In fact I have three jobs coming up that will require them. Not one of the many tile distributors in CT stock these units. Shame on Schluter and the rep who isn't doing his job. Shame on Schluter with their new policy of holding orders for 24 hours before processing.
After watching the video I was wondering why they didnt make the flange with female threads and the adapter ring with male threads.
If anyone knows where there is stock of these new drains in CT, NY, or western Mass, please post.

Dave, call David Taylor at Tile Experts.com. Can't say that he has'em, but he is more likely than the next choices.

Not sure whom you're dealing with that's making you wait 24 hours before processing your orders, but you might wanna talk to Tile Experts.com about that, too.

I hear you CX.
I'm just amazed at the stupidity of distributors these days. I showed a tile contractor the new drain from Schluter and he needs two right now!!. Screw the distributors around here, Ill tell him to give David a call at TileExperts.
The rep in CT should be on the distributors more. Not doing Schluter proud.

John, I think you need a chinstrat to hold that hat on. But don't put any holes in it to attach the strap, can't damage the integrity of the pan. Use some kerdi fix.

yep, apparently you cant buy the adapter by itself, it only comes with an addtional drain which is kind of a dumb idea IMO. A guy should be able to stock several drains and when he comes accross a job where he needs the adapter he should be able to purchase it seperatly IMHO. Come on schluter, lets start selling that thing on its own?

We have an order pending for one of the hats (from someone on this website) and one more in stock.

More hats are coming next week.

David indicates that he will also have the drain flange adapter available separately.

Dunno why he addressed the issue of Coolie Hats instead, there. Must just be the Canuck in him comin' out.

As Mr. Kelly mentioned, we will have the components available separately, but they'd have to be a phone order - they won't be available on the website anytime soon.

I finally got my Kerdi drain kit today. It is pretty slick and installed in just minutes. It's totally different than the glue type Kerdi drain. Their going to sell tons of these. Just wish the bonding flange was a little stiffer. My only thumbs down to Schluter is no pre-formed corners come in the kit. Come on guys, for the price of this thing, dont be so greedy, throw in some corners.

my gripe is the regular kerdi drain doesnt fit into the adapter. it would have been so much nicer to have made the adapter fit the reg. drains and just sell the adapters seperatly so we all could have a couple on hand when needed.

I checked with Schluter on the two gripes above.

On including corners in with the adapter kit, the thinking is that the kit is often used on large projects, apartments, town houses, hotels, etc. The problem is that by the time you would need the corners they would have walked away or have been thrown away. It made sense to supply the accessories separately.

As to using the regular Kerdi-drain with the adapter, it would be too high off the deck. Your shower floor would have to be very thick, curb would have to be higher, the whole bit. Hence the special drain.

The above is from the mouth of the horse.

Any reviews on this new one yet?

Kudos to Schluter I talked to Corey (my rep) last March and here we have it 5 months later - That is why I use their products.
