Dan's right on with the double layer recommendation, Lenny. Always better than the thicker single layer subfloor.

Transitions from ceramic tile to hardwood are some of the easiest to make. Make your subfloor suitable for your tile installation and then make transitions as necessary.

My opinion; worth price charged.
