DIY'ers should stick more idiot proof practices

Finally done tiling the walls and soaking tub with quality large format porcelain, now on to the floor. Used the calculators to insure deflection is within tolerances, adding a 1/2 BC plywood over the 23/32 OSB, nailed to hell and back with ring shanks, and now on to suitable substrate over the plywood. Ok, I thought I'd go with Dittra; then, the modified vs the unmodified mortar, and "mixing the modified mortar under the Ditra a bit "soupy" but not too soupy BS sets in!

Why in the world would I stop using an expensive highly modified mortar that bonds like a bear and held the tile in place while it dried like a champion (over cement backer board)? Why use something different to accommodate a product that in my opinion is better left to someone with experience using it?

F that. I'm laying down the bloody, dirty, pain the butt cement backer board over keyed in and troweled modified mortar, screwing it down with proper screws by the book, and setting my tile over it with MY mortar of choice!

What a frustrating bunch of Shite trying to figure this crap out!

Can you tell I'm so GD ready to finish this project!

Yeah, Norman. A boat-load of choices. Each has its pros and cons. Nothing wrong with the way you wanna do it with cement board. I'm glad you're researching ahead of time. That's the best way, IMHO.

Party on, Wayne. Party on, Ted!
