Recommendations for travertine tile underlayment

Hi all,

I am new to this forum & am in need of suggestions for tile underlayment. I know absolutely nothing about tile installation. Here's my situation: I recently moved into a new condo on the 2nd floor. I plan to hire someone to install 12x12 travertine tile in my small kitchen, which currently has linoleum/vinyl flooring. The HOA has specific flooring replacement standards. I submitted an architectural application to them stating my proposal: to install travertine tile over the vinyl flooring. My request was temporarily denied because they require additional underlayment between the linoleum & tile for sound barrier purposes. The HOA has specific flooring replacement standards as follows:

Sound Transmission Class must be 55 (STC) or higher
Impact Isolation Class rating must be 50 (IIC) or higher

Any recommendations?

I've never used it, but look at the top on the add for easymat. In its thicker versions, I think it meets the requirements. Normally, you'll need to remove the vinal and probably the luan plywood under it. Then, you may need more plywood. You sure it meets the requirments for tile? Use the Deflecto tool in the blue bar above.
