Paul,
In previous pics of this shower I saw Kerdi board. I don't understand how the Noble seal comes into play?
If it replaced Kerdi for the floor. How did you connect it to the Kerdi Board and the drain?

Well Isaac, I hope your fix works, because I've done just about the same thing last week.
An addition was added to the house about ten years ago to do a kitchen and laundry room remodel. Had about 425sf of Dal Tile French Quarter installed. After the new owners moved in, they started to have tile cracking in a straight line over two rooms that the addition spanned. They asked the original owners if they had any problems and of course, they had no idea what would have caused that because they never had any problems!
It was pretty obvious that it was the cold joint between the two slabs, but I had to do a little CSI to figure out just what had happened.
Turns out that the original broken tile floor was laid over about a 3" mud bed. So, when they did the new slab, which is about 6" away from the old slab, they poured that to the height of the old slab and added a mud bed to match up with the old floor.
As you can see, the tile was definitely repaired by the original owners (you can see the grinder marks on the old floor where they cut the new tile out to fix the cracked tile and the brighter and larger grout remnants) Of course, neither the original installer or the repairing installer honored the joint between the mud beds or the joint between the slabs.
So ultimately, I had to repair the mud bed, after removing all the old thin set, honored the joints between the old and new mud beds, installed Laticrete Stratamat over the entire area (yes, I know that's not what it's designed to do. I was concerned about having any additional issues over the old mud bed) and then put soft joints on either side of the tile over the slab and mud bed joints. (And if that wasn't fun enough, all the cabinets where set over the tile, so that all had to be chipped out.
I'm probably taking a little risk because of the two joints, but I'm figuring between the Stratamat and the soft joints, I'll be good. If not, I've already discussed with the customer, I'll bring the cold joints all the up through the tile like you're supposed to!

Ray, we will keep track and see who's patch job last the longest.
I used strata mat because I don't feel comfortable using a sheet applied crack isolation membrane on an exterior slab on grade application. Lots of moisture in the ground, and the exterior slabs here never seem to have a vapor barrier under them. I figure the uncoupling membrane will provide some protection against cracking and will not trap moisture.
And like you I gave the clients the warning that the only way to guarantee no problems is to cut the joint through the tile directly above the crack.

John K -
Kerdi board on the walls, kerdi band between the panels and the mud floor, Noble fabric between the kerdi band and the kerdi drain flange. This way I didn't have to seam the kerdi fabric on the floor and got a better floor membrane IMHO.

Paul,
So is it like Noble TS? And how did you bond it to the Kerdi band and drain?

I used the same thinset as schluter prescribes I usually use. I'll test the grab monday when we get to work. If I have any doubts, I use sikaflex to bond the floor membrane to both the drain and the wall kerdi band. But in this case the band and the drain flange were both in pristine condition as we used blue painters tape to keep the surfaces clean.

But that puts you at odds with the NobleSeal manufacturer, Paul.

Tile over a concrete step form ~ the roofers cracked a bunch of tiles when they rolled a lift onto the step w/ no protection. The tiles all came off with a slight tap of the chisel. Almost no mud underneath.
After ~ we went with 1-1/4" Cumberland Brown stone in a running bond pattern with a full bed of 1:3 type S. 2 days, and a happy client.
Still wet after acid wash:
