Richie I LOVE him (or her?) IF you look you can see we have a alligator guarding our snow fort. He is on top.My daughter got him to scare the male lady from walking in my gardens It did not work so we just moved the mail box. She surely would have been afraid of yours.

Mat I hope your day was without incident The cold is bad anuff without having to take time to get tools to work and dressing and undressing all the time. Wet hands seem to never warm up.

Hope you all stay warm and dry!

so Tammara,
did you guys get up this a.m. and make that fort or did you already have some snow prior?

if you made that fort by 08:46 AM your kids are fast workers.

Tammara,

I hope no representatives of the Snow Miners Union sees this thread. Otherwise they will have OSHA on your tail for inadequate snow tunnel bracing. Next, your kids will union up, and you'll be stuck in arbitration.

This is From last year, But we have started another one. Every big snow we get, which isn't often, we try to take advantage of it. We usually plan too big for the amount of snow we get, and end up stealing snow from neighboring yards, driveways, and street. Luckily no one has called the cops on us...yet.. I kind of miss the big snows we had when i lived in upper state Idaho. My boys are getting to old to want to play in the snow, so i bought my grand kids snow shovels for Christmas. Gotta' bring 'em up right.

Gotta go blow the driveway, about 6 inches and still coming down. I saw lots of footprints on the lawn, means the kids were out playing.

Matt, hope today was uneventful.

Sorry but I just had to show off a bit A snow cave is like laying tile. Lay one day Grout the next. You want the mortar to set up a bit before you get out on it.We are about 9' in now.Dan the shoring has been added to the snow tunnel as you can see.
