Prova mat over drywall mud

My drywaller finished the seams with one coat of 90 minute mud. Is that gonna cause an issue with adhesion? I know that Kerdi is not supposed to be installed over mud. I've done membranes before over drywall that has had a single coat with no issues. Thoughts.

The only reason im not using Kerdi is because its not readily available near me.

What's the application, Tim? Is this for a shower, perhaps?

Yes a shower, I called them today they said itís not necessary but it will be fine. I will whipped down any dust and use some modified thin set.

They said what's not necessary?

Does the Prova manufacturer actually recommend the use of that product over gypsum board in a shower application, Tim? Will you require code compliance inspections for this project?

I've installed Kerdi over seams inadvertently bedded with regular drywall mud on a number of occasions without apparent problems. Over hot mud I wouldn't worry about it at all.

My opinion; worth price charged.
