Tile outside patio

I would like to tile my outside concrete patio, but it has been painted by the previous owner. Is the paint an issue when using thinset mortar?

Welcome back, Hawkeye.

Yes, it is, and it should be removed to clean concrete.

The concrete should also be sloped a minimum of 1/4" per foot away from the building.

If you had a geographic location in your User Profile we could better assess the need for a waterproofing membrane under the tile, but it's a good idea in any environment.

My opinion; worth price charged.

The bold type was there for a reason, Hawkeye. If you don't put the information there it will be lost before we leave this page.
