I'm back to blow the dust off this remodel project. Life gets in the way and projects get put on hold.
Anyway, I have a question.
I am using a schluter kerdi-line drain. The area where the drain will be is 38" without any tile. I am trying to decide which length of drain to go with.
The KL1V60E90 which has an opening of 35 7/16" or
The KL1V60E80 which has an opening of 31 1/2"
The wall tile I will be using will be 7/16" thick. Will the larger of the two drains fit and look right when completed?
Thanks!

Don't know what you're measuring, Scott, but your numbers don't appear to quite fit any of the dimensions listed on the Schluter website.

CX, I got my numbers from this page.
Schluter Drains
I was looking at the actually drain size not the grate.

Don't know what the discrepancy might be, Scott. Maybe best you call the Mother Ship (800-472-4588) and ask them your question. I don't see your "Model KL1V60E90" listed at all and I don't know what difference the 1 in there might mean.
I've never installed one of their line drains other than at Schluter training workshops and we paid no attention to how they might actually fit in any particular shower layout.
My opinion; worth price charged.

Thank CX I will phone the mothership. I believe the “1” is the new packaging. Comes with a valve seal, pipe seal, and some corners

The 36" line drain fits!!!
I'll be doing the mud bed soon, can I use plastic under the lathe instead of roofing felt?

Yes, you can, Scott. Minimum 4mil polyethylene sheeting. Or any reasonable facsimile thereof, truth be known.

How long you got?
If you're going over this with Kerdi, I'd let it set up at least overnight, but preferably until Monday. The longer you wait, the better.

Some more updates. The drain was set about 4-5 days after I put in the mud floor. I just Kerdi’d the floor last night. I have 1 more piece of ditra and a few pieces of kerdi band left to install.
I have a question? I will be using 12 x 24 porcelain tiles with some glass tile accent. I was planning on getting the T3 razor blade. Will that blade be good for both my porcelain and my glass tile? Somebody on another thread recommended a glass tile blade but it was $300, I’m not sure I want to spend that kind of money for just a few cuts.

The T3 is great for the porcelain. No way of knowing how it will work with the glass until you cut one.

Thanks for the reply Paul. That is the blade that was recommended to me by another member. All the prices I’m seeing for the 10” version are close to $300
