Looks good Jon!

I somewhat agree with Hamilton, but as Mick stated,it also has it's place.

Jon,do the grout lines carry throughout the deck? Hard to see what you did at the apex.

I have never used any kind of profile for countertops, but I do like it Jon. Normally I will polish first obviously if that is an option. then V-cap next, then bullnose. In Oregon I did a few with quarter round and really liked that, but now days it is super hard to find matching quarter round with most tiles.

As Mick stated...? Rich, don't I count..lol

The picture is taken for you not to see the apex up close... I was waiting for someone to ask that question!

Both areas looked good square set but obviously it wasn't a 90 degree angle, more like 120 degrees. I took the tiles used and cut 2" pieces to make a transition across the apex for it to flow. I don't have any pics of just that area as I just wanted an overall pic. Be glad to take one for ya though as I go back Friday to do the vanity countertop.

Thanks Levi. I don't have experience with polishing granite like many of you. To have granite tiles, and take them somewhere to have them polished, the customer might as well get the slab fabricated. With this customer she didn't want granite, that span couldn't support it anyway and she didn't want a support leg under the center. She wanted the durability a porcelain for the low maintenance and the leg room to stay there(3 chairs across), so I created a support within the K-board.

We usually try and mirror the cuts on stuff like that when it's not square. The profiles are kinda cool I haven't ever used them so I have no idea how tricky that all is man.

I'll have to take another look to see if that was an option. When I talked to the customer originally and she picked out the tile, I knew we would have to transition. I said how about if I use some smaller pieces same tile to transition it without it standing out, and it doesn't. If there was another way I would like to know for future reference. Most areas are gonna be 90 degree turns but you have a few like this one. As for cutting the profiles I have a DeWalt chop saw, can set it to angles like a miter saw. Course there are inside corners and outside corners for these profiles but they are not as tight as I would like for them to be.

Jon, I think you have a very good idea, there are new materials that are coming out aka Trend Q, Atlas Concorde, Cotto D'Este, Tau, Porcelanosa that are Thin, Large and some of them are easy to cut that would make ideal materials IMO for countertops, showers etc. for commercial applications as well as residential, and they go well with the profiles which is a nice look and more money in your pocket.

Very nice work Jon. I like the schluter counter profiles personally, with the right tile. I think v cap is butt ugly and so are a lot of bullnose pieces. You did a great job, those things are tricky to cut and install.
I was actually working with some 2" k board today for a bench. Fun stuff. I cut it on the table saw and chop saw. Is that what you used?

Jon,I do like the schluter in this application, but not a fan of it

Think what Chad is saying is....... bisect the intersection, and cut mirror/matching pieces. No matter how you slice it,that countertop gonna have alot of cuts

Pretty sure it works with any angle. But might not with the layout though.

It will work with any angle, the problem on that counter is how the one free/bar side looks to be skinnier than the run against the wall. Or at least doesn't have a clean transition where it comes away. So that back course of tile may have been real hard to mirror. The front row I don't see why there would be an issue there at all.

Yah a 24" and 24" will work that way but not a 21" and 24". Can't see a top view of the pic.

Also the way the left side 45's out makes it difficult too
