Kitchen Backsplash grouting same day

I have a backsplash a little more than half set. I have to grout it tomorrow because the customer wants it done
I've had to do it in the past but almost never do it

Is there a mastic that sets up fast enough to grout

Mastic, probably not, but an epoxy thinset or a rapid setting mortar would both allow you to grout that same day.

Stay away from mastic if you want to grout right away. Grout has a bad habit of discoloring if it comes into contact with mastic that hasn’t dried adequately.

Use a rapid setting cement mortar. Most every box store will carry at least 25# bags. But do mix up smaller batches as it fires off on you pretty quick and you don’t wanna have to throw a bunch of it in the trash when your bucket of mortar suddenly turns into a rock-hard boat anchor.
