Dude! You're a wizard!

I am blown away at your concrete skills. And only 15 days? What an honor for you to get to do this project.

My hat's off to you sir!

So , The 1st day into this project I was informed that the 36 inch diameter bronze medallion , that is the center piece of the memorial may not arrive by the Feb 11th my deadline . ( The HOA / designer handled this piece of the project ) . I called their supplier to verify exact thickness of medallion and to emphasize it has to be exactly 36 inches in diameter as all tile / layout has been based on this most critical dimension. I than had water jet company cut me a exact 36 inch diameter template to use as a guide to set the first band of polished blue mica flaked porcelain. That problem temporary solved. Next I called Laticrete. Informed them of the project and my time restraints on completion. When I told them I had to install tile on fresh / green concrete in 36 hours there was a little bit of silence. The solution was 254 to set Stratamat , Stratamat , than 254 to set porcelain , Permacolor grout and Latisil for my three circular soft joints . Laticrete donated all materials no questions asked and they had it delivered to my local distributer in 48 hours. Only for Henry would I ever put on a fluorescent green t shirt

I installed the blue circular band of tile around the medallion template , stood back and looked at it and realized how will I lower a 110 pound 36 inch diameter circle medallion when my soft joint between medallion and tile is 3/16 ? Luckily I had a rare smart moment and realized the best solution was to take two tile out so medallion could be set safely and than set them back after.
