why hasn't gemini taken off?

Last year, at the vegas floor show(surfaces2003) My brother in-law, and at the time my boss seen a tile saw that used a band blade. Wierd, just like a band saw blade only made with diamond band around it. They came back ready to sell the saws they had,and go with this gemini saw. Funny, nothing ever became of it, nor have i heard anymore from them(gemini). Has anyone ever purchased, and used one? I would like to know what there about.

Its a lot of money to spend on a product that hasnt proven itself in daily use through the test of time.

Lets see, i can spend 1500.00 on a new saw with no track record, or i can spend 1500.00 on a Felker or Target thats been around on 90% of the Job sites since Noah tiled the bathroom.kind of a no brainer from a business standpoint dont you think??

Gamble with my money? I think not,Iwork far too hard for it
TIP YOUR TILE MAN, His Retirement plan is not nearly as lucrative as yours and his waning years will be far more painful to boot.
He gives much so you can have a Beautiful Home!!

I'm thinking of getting one too but am waiting to hear others who have had one for a couple of years. With a specialty product like that they put a lot of emphasise on what it can do so I think that thats where most of the $1500 is going too. Therefore they may have not out a lot of time and energy into putting a really good mortor in it. Like Todd said..........lot of money if after 6 months of hard work it dies on ya.

I FEAR NO BEER! (except Grolsh....yuck)

Gemini Saws

I purchased a Gemini saw about 6 months ago and have had good luck with it other than it snapped a blade on me while cutting a porcilin tile into a tight circle. It has its use as far as cutting radius cuts and circles much faster than the old score and nip but cutting repeditive straight cuts I still us a MK 101 much faster and straighter. The thing that makes this saw nice is the abilty to take it to an upstairs bathroom or on a basement floor to avoid running up and down the stairs. Its nice to have but as far as was it worth the money?? the jurys still out.
