Schluter Kerdi-Line Linear Drain Failures

I try to not spend too much time on YouTube seeing all the things people rant about, especially channels where the creator raves about something one week and condemns it the next and then condemns the last thing they raved about only to add another product which is now the greatest thing ever and soon to be condemned as well after some non-scientific and non-real-world testing. Tired of it.

But as I speak in a bad manner of such information, I must confess I recently watched a (not live) livestream discussion about a Kerdi-Line drain failure in which the bonding between the membrane and the stainless channel failed. Has anyone had this issue? Is this a thing or a one-off. The video made it seem like there is some big cover-up going on at Schluter.

Love to hear what your experiences are with these drains.

Yes, we have a thread about that, John. No, I can't locate it just now, but one of our search experts will surely find it.

Looks like the search experts are on vacation at the moment.

This doesn't answer your question but Schluter did come out with a cut-to-fit version of their linear drain that has a different interface. I mention this in case you are looking for another option but want to stick with the Schluter brand.
